Anyone with an interest in regattas and a passion about raising funds to cure cancer can participate.
Participants include sailboat and on-water sports enthusiasts - skippers and crew - but you don't have to enjoy boating to be a part of a Leukemia Cup Regatta and help raise funds to accelerate blood cancer cures.
Poker runs, stand up paddle races and junior regattas are held by many of the yacht clubs that host Leukemia Cup Regattas. Check with your local chapter to see if these events are available in your area.
There are so many ways you can help:
When you register as a Skipper, you are taking on an important role - not only will you be leading your crew in the Regatta, you'll be their role model as a fundraiser and help them understand their own role as participants. Some of them may not be familiar with the work of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and you can let them know that the Leukemia Cup Regatta is more than a fabulous day on the water, it's a way to help people with cancer live better, longer lives.
As a crew member, you have the opportunity to raise funds to help find cures for blood cancers. You don't have to be a sailor or on-water sports fan to be part of the fundraising crew. The most important part of your participation is your commitment and passion for accelerating cancer cures.
Volunteers are needed to help with event planning and administration and to help ensure that the campaign is a success in raising funds and that event day goes off without a hitch. Whether you're an idea person, an organizational wizard or both - we can use your help! Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
Find a participant, team or event and support their fundraising efforts.
