Information on 2013 Regatta

The Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society congratulates everyone who participated in the 2011 Leukemia Cup Regatta at the Houston Yacht Club.
The Leukemia Cup Regatta is a series of sailing races that take place at yacht clubs throughout the United States. Sailors raise money for LLS through pledges and individual donations, and compete for prizes and awards. The 2012 event raised just over $141,250. Our goal for 2013 is to raise $146,000 which will be challenging in this tough economy, but we know that the sailing community will come through and help us fight leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
Funds raised support LLS's mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Legendary Sailor Gary Jobson Visits Houston Yacht Club to Help Local Sailors Kick Off Campaign to Fight Blood Cancer
Area sailors will welcome Gary Jobson, Legendary America?s Cup Winner and National Chairman of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society?s Regatta on March 15, 2013, 7:00 p.m. at Houston Yacht Club.
Jobson will urge the boaters to participate in the Regatta and raise funds for blood cancer research and patient services. Jobson first got involved with The Leukemia Cup Regatta in 1994. Nine years later he was diagnosed with lymphoma, which is now in remission. Since its inception participants in the Leukemia Cup Regatta have raised more than $38 million to help advance the LLS mission.
