FAQ and Forms

Since 1997, The South Carolina Leukemia Cup Regatta, organized by the members of the Charleston Ocean Racing Association, has raised over $2 million for research and patient programs for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia Cup Regatta is more than boats and crew racing: it is a community  effort of our planning and race committee members, sponsors, skippers, crew, windless sailors, auction contributors, event volunteers and staff, and guests.  This year's Leukemia Cup Regatta is the weekend of September 23, 2017.  We invite everyone to join us for our 21st Anniversary Leukemia Cup Regatta and Gala!

How soon do I have to register?

The sooner you register the better. You'll need time to recruit others to participate as crew members or even other skippers who want to compete. And the longer a fundraising window you have, the more opportunity you'll have to grow the donations.

How does fundraising work?

Whatever your style, we'll help make fundraising fun and easy.

For a super-simple approach, make use of the efundraising page you'll be given when you register. We invite you to download our fundraising packet filled with great fundraising tips, ideas, samples and instructions to create a personal fundraising Web page. You can use the site as is or add your own photos and messaging. Then, email your contacts a link to your site and watch the dollars start coming in!

In addition to raising funds online, you can also send letters to friends and contacts or be creative and hold fundraising events - parties, sales or auctions. Check with Crystal Feller at 843.972.4774 or crystal.feller@lls.org for more ideas and instructions on collecting and submitting donations.

How are funds used?

Proceeds from The Leukemia Cup Regatta help advance The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. This mission is carried out through funding extensive research for treatments, cures, government advocacy, patient assistance programs, community outreach and education programs.  In the 2015 fiscal year, 78% of the funds raised in South Carolina went directly to our mission.

Are there any fundraising incentives?

Every one wins when cancer loses.  Every $1 you raise fights back against blood cancer and allows you to join in the FUN in celebrating 20 years!  All 21st  Anniversary Gala & Awards Celebration tickets that you sell will count towards your fundraising total!  Family and friends can purchase tickets directly from your website!  Each skipper receives one complimentary ticket to the Gala with paid boat registration.

We are excited to present the national 2017 Leukemia Cup Regatta incentives!  Check back for additional local incentives.
