A warm welcome to our 2011 Leukemia Cup Regatta Committee! Our deepest thanks to these volunteers who help organize events and recruit participants for the National Capital Area Leukemia Cup Series.
Aaron Boesenecker
This is Aaron's 2nd year on the planning committee. He is a member of the Potomac River Sailing Association and assists with the race logistics of the Leukemia Cup.
O'Shannon Burns
O'Shannon joins our committee for the first time this year from the Pentagon Sailing Club. She was a member of the Penn State Sailing Team and helped to raise funds for the team throughout her college years.
Thomas Cordell
Thomas is joining the planning committee for the first time in 2011. He comes from the Pentagon Sailing Club and will be the first rep. from PSC to stand on our committee!
Tom DesJardins
2011 marks Tom's 5th year on the planning committee. Tom represents the Capital Yacht Club and has also been among the top 10 fundraisers for the Regatta.
Marcia Green
Marcia has been helping plan the Leukemia Cup Regatta since its inception in the Washington, DC area 18 years ago! She is a member of The Sailing Club of Washington as well as The Dangerfield Island Sailing Club.
Susan Lavine
Susan has served on the planning committee for the past five years as a member of Capital Yacht Club. Susan sails with Tom DesJardins aboard Shellback II and has been among the top 10 fundraisers for the Regatta.
Alex Mattioli
Alex joins the committee for the first time this year hailing from the Pentagon Sailing Club. She comes with fundraising experience from her time at Penn State and was a member of the Penn State Sailing Team.
Chris McGraw
2011 will be Chris's 3rd year on the planning committee. Chris was among our top fundraisers last year and serves as the liaison for the Sailing Club of Washington.
Peg O'Laughlin
Peg is serving her 3rd year on the planning committee and serves as the liaison for the Dangerfield Island Sailing Club. Peg is also a very active member of the Sailing Club of Washington.
David Robinson
David is joining the planning committee for the first time in 2011. He is a member of the Quantico Yacht Club and sails aboard Paradiso.
Faith Rodell
Faith is joining the planning committee for the first time in 2011. She is also the Commodore of the Sailing Club of Washington.
Marc Smith
Marc comes to the Regatta Committee from the Northern Virginia Model Yacht Club. He spearheaded the addition of the Victoria Class to the 2010 Leukemia Cup and is joining the planning committee for the first time in 2011.
Andrea Steierman
2011 will be Andrea's 3rd year as a committee member. Andrea is the liaison for the Mount Vernon Yacht Club and sails with last year's winning team- Aphrodite.
George Umberger
George has been serving on the Leukemia Cup committee for 9 years. In George's 10 years of fundraising with 6-time Leukemia Cup winning team The Five Skippers he has been a Fantasy Sail attendee and top-10 fundraiser. George is also an active member of the Sailing Club of Washington.
Kim Rogan-Weitzel
Kim has been chair of the Power Boat Poker Run since its inaugural year in 2007. Kim is a Past Commodore and an active member of The Old Dominion Boat Club and was one of the top fundraisers for the Poker Run in 2010. Kim says: I love working on the Leukemia Cup Committee, it allows me to participate in a wonderful cause while doing something I love and I get to share it with all those I care about.
