National Capital Area 2010 Leukemia Cup Series
Raise a sail, save a life! The 17th Annual Leukemia Cup Regatta will sail into the Washington Sailing Marina on September 10-11, 2010. This signature event is now part of a greater series of events, including the Junior Leukemia Cup Regatta and the Power Boat Poker Run. For water enthusiasts of all ages, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has a way for you to join us for the largest charity Regatta series in the country!
Registration for 2010 events is now available!
To register to sail in the Leukemia Cup Regatta (September 10th & 11th) fill out this form (PRHF & One-Design) or this form (Model Yachts) and return it to Loree Lipstein. To register to participate in the Power Boat Poker Run (August 29th) fill out this form and return it to Loree Lipstein.
* Announcing a NEW CLASS for the 2010 race: The Corinthian Class *
The 2010 Leukemia Cup PHRF Fleet is adding the Corinthain Class to the existing Spinnaker & Non-Spinnaker classes. The Corinthian Class is offered for the first time as a second non-spinnaker option for less experienced boats and crews or for boats that are naturally less competitive. Sailors are still expected to know the basic racing rules but will be sailing against other boats that share a more relaxed attitude about racing and competing on a shorter course. Each registered participant receives a personal fundraising website as well as support and guidance from LLS staff on how to be successful in fundraising to support the mission of LLS. The Leukemia Cup is a fundraising Regatta and participants are required to raise at least $100 to participate. Raise more than $100 and LLS will thank you with fun prizes such as extra tickets to the party, T shirts, hats and more. 2010 Event Schedule:
August 21, 8am-1pm: 3rd Annual Jr. Regatta, Washington Sailing Marina
August 29, 11am - 5pm: 4th Annual Leukemia Cup Poker Run, Old Dominion Boat Club
September 10, 6pm-8pm: Kick Off Dinner to the 17th Annual Leukemia Cup Regatta

- Dinner provided by Outback Steahouse
- Keynote Speaker: America's Cup & World Champion Sailor Terry Hutchinson
- Price: free for all fundraising sailors (name will be on a list), $10 for all guests & public
September 11, 8am - 8pm: 17th Annual Leukemia Cup Regatta & Post-Race Party
- Hosted by the Washington Sailing Marina
- Sailor check-in: 8am - 9:30am, After-Deck
- Skipper's Meetings: 9am- 10pm (location vary by fleet)
- Spectator Boat Cruises - click here to see schedule of cruises, $10/person
- Post-Race Party: 3pm - 8pm in the grove - tickets available for $10/person
- Dinner provided by Guest Services with appetizers/sides by Red, Hot & Blue and Santa Fe Cafe
