Thanks so much to everyone who helped pack the Southern Yacht Club on January 12 for the 2012 Leukemia Cup Regatta kickoff. Our special guest was world-class sailor and ESPN commentator Gary Jobson. As a survivor of lymphoma, Gary's dedication to the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is boundless. Honored Heroes Harrison Bond and Ryan Finn spoke before Gary Jobson?s presentation. The event included a recap by 2011 Southern YC event chair Guy Brierre of the 2011 event results of over $222,000. Then, 2012 Regatta Co-Chairmen Jim Wade and Shan Kirk announced that the goal for this year's Southern YC event is $300,000. Register and start fundraising now to help accelerate cures by participating in the Southern Yacht Club Leukemia Cup on April 21-22, 2012. Your generosity will help us meet our goal and continue our mission to cure blood cancer and offer patient services to those effected by blood cancer.
The Leukemia Cup Regatta is a thrilling series of sailing events that combines the joy of boating with the important task of raising money to fight leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers. Since its inception, the Leukemia Cup Regatta has raised over $38 million for research and patient services.
