Southern Yacht Club Leukemia Cup Regatta
Congratulations and our deepest thanks to 2012 co-Chairmen Jim Wade and Shan Kirk, and the participants and volunteers involved with the April 21-22, 2012 Leukemia Cup Regatta at the Southern Yacht Club. As of May 1, nearly $220,000 has been raised to help accelerate cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and improve the quality of life for patients and their families. If you are an event participant, you can continue fundraising until November 1, 2012 to qualify for the Fantasy Sail With Gary Jobson, which the Southern Yacht Club will be hosting! You can also continue to make donations in support of event participants. You can continue to make donations in support of our participants so that we can offer more help and hope to the patients on the front lines of the battle against blood cancers.
Congratulations to:
· The crew of Rougarou - Bob Maher, Burt Benrud, Andy Lovell, and their fellow sailors - who raised $29,100 and were presented with the Leukemia Cup as the top event fundraisers
· Guy Brierre, who raised $25,500 and was awarded the Carl Barre Memorial Award for top individual fundraising with $25,500
· Davis Friend, the top junior fundraiser, raising $5,275; with Honored Skipper Harrison Bond taking second place raising $3,500.
